Royal Artillery

The Royal Artillery were formed in 1716, to replace the system of temporarily raised artillery units in the British Army that had preceded it. The regiment's ceremonial commander, known and Captain-General is Queen Elizabeth II, and when on parade with it's guns the regiment takes precedence over all others in the Army.
