Life Guards

Life Guards The senior regiment of the British Army, the Life Guards has its roots in the troop that Charles II raised whilst in exile in Flanders shortly before his restoration. Perhaps the regiment’s finest hour was its part in the Household Brigade’s cavalry charge at Waterloo in 1815 which saved the British centre from being overrun and turned the tide of the battle.
