University of Wales

A federal university compromised of affiliate organisations, the University of Wales was created in 1893 and was, for a long time, the only university in Wales. This distinction came to an end in the 1996 when the Polytechnic of Wales became University of Glamorgan. Its locations include Aberystwyth, Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham amongst others and its chancellor is HRH Price Charles, Prince of Wales.
