St Thomas's Hospital
The site of the hospital traces its roots back to a religious order of Augustinian monks founded in Southwark in 1106, although it was moved to its current Lambeth location in 1871 to make way for the Charing Cross railway viaduct. The Medical Training School began in 1550 and covered both St. Thomas’s and St Guy’s hospitals until 1825, when a dispute between to two institutions saw separate schools set up.
