Royal Horse Artillery

The Royal Horse Artillery was formed during the French Revolutionary Wars of the late eighteenth century. The regiment wore blue, gold and red uniforms with their distinctive ‘Tarleton’ helmet. While horses have been phased out of operational service, the King's Troop of th RHA maintain 100 horses for ceremonial duties including provision of the Queen's Life Guard during summer when the Household Cavalry are away.
