Royal Army Medical Corps

While officially formed in 1898, the British Army had a history of medical service stretching back to 17th century, when individually appointed regimental surgeons would accompany the soldiers, creating 'marching hospitals' which moved with troops. The unit's colours reflect their history, with the red and blue representing the original uniform, and the gold their Royal title.
