Royal Anglian

Formed in 1964, the Royal Anglian Regiment took on the traditions of the East Anglian Regiments which it replaced. It's amalgamated nature can been seen in the combination of insignia on the uniform. For instance, the cap badge features the Castle & Key of Gibraltar which represents the regiments who took part in the seige there, and all members where the 'Essex Eagle' on their sleeve to commemorate the capture of the Spanish Eagle at Salamanca.
